Is a person's wellbeing and happiness dependent on obtaining consumer goods and material possessions?

No one would blatantly express that bizarre idea to our face, but the message surely found its way to our brain from all the screens, the billboards, the brochures, and the flyers. We all know how fun it is to be a customer.

Cash back, rewards, bulk savings,... all the great great things that we have. Who doesn’t like to save? You get a pat on the back for being a good customer, as you should be, because money has got to move around.

But wait. All of those rewards were given because you were being a big spender, and that is all. Your value is all that’s in your pocket.
